I have been tracking the sale of London Transport bus stop flags on ebay since mid-2006. I have (loosely) grouped them into four categories:
| Pre-War Flat signs with a bronze frame. | ![]() |
| LPTB (London Passenger Transport Board) The traditional “boat” sign. Compulsory stops have a black bar on the bulls-eye. Request stops have black text on earlier examples, and coloured text on later ones. | ![]() |
| LTE (London Transport Executive) Boat-shaped signs with a solid-colour roundel and no text on the bar. | ![]() |
| TfL (TransportforLondon) The current style with the stop type listed on a red band. | ![]() |
| Dolly Portable dolly stops and temporary overlay stickers. | ![]() |

| Type | Price & Date | |
|---|---|---|
| LPTB Coach Request + 1 | £205.00 September 2007 | |
| LPTB Bus Compulsory + 3 | £206.02 June 2009 | |
| LPTB Bus Request/Red Arrow Request + 1 | £211.61 May 2007 | |
| LPTB Bus Compulsory/Coach Request + 1 | £320.00 September 2007 | |
| LPTB Red Arrow Compulsory | £347.99 September 2007 | |
| LPTB Bus Compulsory/Coach Compulsory + 3 | £361.00 November 2006 | |
It is believed that a B(R)C(C) (Bus Request Coach Compulsory) sign would command a price in excess of £350, as there were only a handful known to have been erected. I have also created a page of miniature souvenir stop signs, as sold in the London’s Transport Museum gift shop. |
