LONDON

This series of maps, published from 1956 to 1972, is somewhat ambiguously titled LONDON. One side has a large detailed map of London showing the Underground lines in their proper colours, plus British Rail services (in black and white), all bus roads (outlined in grey), and Green Line coach routes (as green lines, naturally). The reverse has a small black and white diagrammatic map of the Underground, plus an assortment of textual information.

London’s Railways

The short run of London’s Railways maps that appeared between 1973 and 1975 was a continuation of the previous LONDON series. They included a coloured digrammatic map of all local railways in London, plus a black and white map of the Underground’s central area. They also showed the travel connections between the Main Line railway stations.

SIGHTSEEING

This is a large fold-out map the same size as the ordinary bus map of that time. On one side is a large-scale coloured map of Central London showing places of interest with bus routes and underground stations. On the other side are brief descriptions of some of the famous places of interest to visitors to London, with a grid reference to find them on the map. In addition, there is a black-and-white central area Underground map, as well as line drawings of some of the places. There are adverts for London Transport publications, Rover tickets and the Round London Sightseeing Tour that includes a map of the route.
