These small books were published by A.M. Witton and covered the major bus operators in the London area. They contain “fleet lists, illustrations and historical notes”. The original single volume was split into Inner London and Outer London in later editions.
“These Fleetbooks’ objective is to provide fleet lists and historical information for every important bus operator. Although coverage is normally limited to stage and express carriage operators, Brakell, Obsolete Fleet and Vintage Bus Company fleets are included; the first two running vehicles virtually in London Transport livery. The Inner London book is dominated by London Transport. Several of Britain’s best-known touring coach companies are based in London, and some of them are also included. Outer London provides more information about the many independent stage carriage operators in the London area.”
